The Virginia Military Institute is a private military college in
Lexington, founded in 1839, and the oldest state-supported military college in the US.
Their Goodall Pool Aquatic Complex was unveiled in 2023. This state-of-the-art facility was meticulously designed to fulfill the ever-growing needs of the VMI Corps of Cadets and serve as a versatile hub for the intercollegiate swimming, diving, and water polo teams, providing a dedicated space for training and hosting competitions.
Additionally, it will cater to various needs such as physical therapy, swimming qualifications for military schools like the U.S. Army Rangers and Navy Special Operations, faculty and staff wellness programs, and even SCUBA training.
The new 58,000-square-foot aquatic center houses:Eight 50-meter lap lanes
Two 4-foot bulkheads
Two 1-meter springboards
Two 3-meter springboards
5-meter dive platform

The adjustable track start wedge and handgrips give swimmers an extra boost on starts by allowing the knee to start at a 90° angle. The superior grit finish on the platform top reduces slipping, while the H-style backstroke bar gives backstroke swimmers numerous gripping options.
